Paula Scher:

In one of my lessons with my tutor we were asked to watch a quick 40 minute video on a graphic designer called Paula scher . we had to take notes down such as about her way of design thinking and where she gets her ideas from. other notes that were taken down were things such as how she became a graphic designer, what her first job was which was working as a designer for a theatre.

For another lesson we were asked to draw a present with a ribbon and then had to stick it onto the board. but the whole idea for that was understanding that everyone in terms of creative thinking, their mind is different to each other,. in a conclusion we had learned that in order to be in a digital creative course, you dont have to be artistic.

Platons Photography

In my next lesson with my tutor, we were asked to watch a documentary to do with platons photography. from the documentary we took notes similarly to Paula schhers where we had to understand what her process is when creating a design or photography.

from the documentary,

the notes i took down were mainly things to do with how platons photography process works.

Platon in his work for the past two decade has taken pictures of important and and famous people.

his portrait's mainly focus on the eyes of the person hes taking the photo of such as the eyes so he knows how to position the camera. sometimes for him it can be about the hands of the person or getting a straight look. when taking photos he cares about the soul therefore before he starts to take the photo he likes to research to find out what he can learn from the person. platon cares about a connection when taking a photo.

from platons perspective, its not about designing a photograph but rather about communication.

James White:

From james white's video i learnt about his process of how he uses his visual idea towards making movie posters and how to never fall in love with the first concept. the meaning of never fall in in love with your concept means it might not end up being a good design, therefore its always better to create more than one concept. more things i learnt from james was how every single late morning when he wakes up he practices with sketches he does and by doing that he learns new skills everyday. from this, what i've learnt as well is, the more i practice drawing, the more mistakes i make it will help me get better with any future work i do.
